WELCOME TO PANBANG ECOLODGE, ZHEMGANG
Panbang Ecolodge was established in 2013 with the support by TCB and Royal Manas National Park Office, Gelephu Sarpang.
Four stone and wood cottages sit low along the riverbank, built to blend into the landscape rather than interrupt it. A backyard garden supplies the kitchen year round. The Mangde Chhu moves just beyond the window. We opened our doors to share what was always here. Not to change it.
The Founder
I didn't want to build a lodge, I wanted to build a reason for people to come to Panbang and stay long enough to actually feel it.
Drukpa grew up in Zhemgang district. He spent years watching travelers pass through Bhutan without ever reaching the south.Panbang Ecolodge is his answer to that a place built deliberately for people who want to go further than the brochure.

Every person you'll meet here lives in Panbang. Your money stays in the village in the hands of the family that cooked your meal and guided your walk.
Breakfast comes from the garden outside your window. No supply chains, no imported ingredients, just food grown, cooked, and served by people who eat the same meals themselves.
Bhutan's oldest national park begins where our property ends. Tigers, elephants, and over 500 bird species reachable on foot, not by a two-hour drive.
Whether you are traveling solo or with children, you will be looked after here. Bhutanese hospitality is not a policy, it is simply how people in this part of the world treat guests.
Whether you came for the birdwatching, the trails, the food, or just to properly slow down, Panbang has a way of giving each person exactly what they need.

Every hire comes from Panbang or the villages nearby. Their knowledge of this land is the actual product we're offering guests not something we can import.

A portion of every booking funds active forest protection and wildlife conservation. The wilderness here is why anyone comes and we intend to keep it that way.
